Monthly cinematic films have been shown in the village since 2003, initially in the Village Hall and since 2011 in the Conservative Hall.
Throughout this period, John and Freda have been ever present on film night , performing a multitude of roles including ticket sales / collection, tuck shop duties, selling of wine / raffle tickets, preparing the venue pre-opening and tidying up post film show.
On Saturday 13th February 2016 over 100 people attended the East Preston Film Society showing of ‘The Lady in the van’
During the interval, a special presentation – donated by film society sponsors, Cooper Adams Estate Agents – was made to John and Freda in recognition of their unflinching services to the local film going community.
Details of our monthly films can be found on posters around the village

What has East Preston Film Society ever done for this village?
East Preston Film Society was formed by Paul Amoo in June 2012 so that current cinematic films (29 to date with average attendance of 70) could be shown in the village and all money raised returned as donations to various East Preston causes / groups / events. Screenings are held monthly in the Conservative Hall, Sea Road and all shows are sponsored by Cooper Adams Estate Agents. The film society is run by a small but committed group of volunteers (Carol, Terry, John, Freda, Dorothy, Catherine and Paul). We are always looking to add to this number so if interested in helping then please email firstname.lastname@example.org

East Preston schools, Our Lady Star of the sea catholic church youth group, Martlets, East Preston floral club, East Preston youth football, East Preston youth colts cricket, East Preston festival, East Preston twinning, St Wilfred’s catholic school, Littlehampton & Rustington ‘contact the elderly’, East Preston parish council, Church lunch fund, village benches, village flower planters, village bike racks, outdoor exercise equipment and many other items.
We also sponsor East Preston FC football club, Worthing Rugby football club (in Angmering), Angmering on Sea lawn tennis club, East Preston and Kingston Neighbour watch, Angmering on Sea newsletter, Rustington Sea Estate newsletter, All about East Preston magazine, Sea Inside magazine, East Preston festival open gardens and art trail and Littlehampton bench to name but a few.

Benedict Cumberbatch stars in the suspenseful true story of wartime code-breaker Alan Turing. During WWII, the German Enigma machine successfully encrypts Nazi messages. Brilliant mathematician Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch) is recruited by MI6 boss Stewart Menzies (Mark Strong) to join Britain’s top-secret Government Code and Cypher School at Bletchley Park. Together with a motley crew that includes his friend and fellow cryptanalyst Joan Clarke (Keira Knightley), he races against time to crack the code. It’s a vital task, with thousands of Allied lives at stake. ‘Headhunters’ director Morten Tyldum ratchets up the tension as the code-breakers set to work. He also traces other key events in Turing’s life, from his unhappy boarding school years to his later persecution by the British establishment. This is a fascinating insight into the work and complex life of the man credited with significantly shortening the war. The excellent supporting cast includes Charles Dance and Matthew Goode.
